NOMA launching new era, ribbon cutting will showcase innovative learning labs, upscale performance venue
OMAHA, NE – A ribbon cutting event on Thursday, May 15, is the next step in North Omaha
Music and Arts’ (NOMA) vision of generating an economic impact, educating the next
generation of musicians, while honoring the rich jazz history on the North 24 th Street corridor.
The 2 p.m. event at NOMA will showcase new instructional spaces and enhanced performance
venue.

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert will be among the featured speakers
“This event signifies the next chapter for NOMA,” said Dana Murray, executive director of
NOMA. “The team has put forth considerable effort and resources to make this next step
possible. At the core of this celebration is our new learning labs. They feature specialized
learning spaces with instruments to allow for more personalized practice, instruction,
collaboration and peer learning. Our performance space has also undergone a facelift and
offers the look and feel of a true jazz venue, which will draw top talent to the stage. This is yet
another step NOMA is taking in revitalizing the North 24 th Street corridor, resulting in a
significant economic impact now and for many years to come.”
Following the program, attendees will tour the keyboard lab, electronic drum and bass lab – the
only electronic drum lab in the state and broadcast studio, while also enjoying refreshments in
the upscale performance space.
